- Develop and maintain an information service for physicians, transplant coordinators and patients regarding all available donor sources throughout every aspect of the search process.
- Maintain communications with and problem solve for the physicians, transplant coordinators and patients. Disburse information concerning all available medical, financial and community support services.
- Monitor search progress and assist in the identification of problems resulting in unnecessary delays, costs, and/or incomplete search results.
- Provide physicians, transplant coordinators and patients with rapid access to the medical personnel necessary to educate in such areas as antigen specificities and provide assistance with search strategy when genotypes are rare.
- Work directly with the physician, transplant coordinator and patient to tailor the search process to meet the needs of the individual patient.
- Expand the donor panel and provide comprehensive advocacy for every donor.
