Donors, friends and supporters of the Caitlin Raymond International Registry

Caitlin Raymond International Registry (CRIR), the oldest donor center for bone marrow, peripheral blood stem cells and umbilical cord blood unit searches in the United States, and its corporate parent, UMass Memorial Health Care, have been considering how best to preserve CRIR's mission as a comprehensive resource for patients and physicians conducting searches for unrelated marrow donors. We have defined that and are pleased to share with you our plans for the future.

Beginning September 30, 2013, the CRIR registry file will be merged into the Be The Match Registry®. Be The Match®, operated by the National Marrow Donor Program® (NMDP), is an organization that shares CRIR's core mission. The NMDP is entrusted to operate the CW Bill Young Cell Transplantation Program on behalf of the Federal Government. It is a nonprofit organization and global leader in providing marrow, peripheral blood stem cells and umbilical cord blood transplants. They also work to connect patients, donors, doctors and researchers to the resources they need.

As of September 30, 2013, Be The Match will assume full responsibility for the CRIR donor registry going forward, including all patient searches and donor match testing that is in process. All current CRIR registry members will become a part of the Be The Match Registry.

If you have questions or wish to remove yourself from the marrow registry, you may do that by calling 800-726-2824.

Thank you for your commitment to CRIR. We hope you will continue to provide hope for patients through Be The Match. To learn more, please visit BeTheMatch.org.
